How can I use my TV as a PC monitor?

You are in luck. All plasma tvs have either a D-sub or DVI connection. These two types of connection are the types of connection used as a standard monitor (crt monitors use D-sub and TFT monitors can use either D-sub or DVI).

On my 42" plasma TV I have a D-sub connection, I simply use a D-sub to D-sub cable (available in most computer shops) to plug my computer into my TV instead of my monitor. If you have a DVI connection you simply need a DVI to DVI cable instead. Once connected use your TV remote to switch to the relevent AV channel (called PC on mine funnily enough).

If your computer only has a D-sub connection and your TV has a DVI connection, the simplest and cheapest way is to buy a D-sub to DVI connector (only about ВЈ2) which plugs into your PC’s graphics card output, then of course you would also need a DVI to DVI cable.
